Day 1Kota KinabaluThe jewel-like waters and white, sandy beaches of Gaya Island are just a short ferry trip from Kota Kinabalu. Once on the island, there's time to swim, snorkel or stroll through the sun-dappled jungles in search of macaques, monitor lizards, hornbills and scaly-skinned pangolins.
Days 2-3Gaya IslandSituated on a reef and fringed by lush, steamy rainforest, comfortable air-conditioned chalets are the perfect place to chill out. Sit back on the balcony with cool drink in hand while watching colourful tropical fish swim in the sparkling waters beneath. For something more active, consider taking a splash in the resort's saltwater pool, canoeing, learning to scuba dive or exploring the other four islands in this stunning marine park.
Day 4Kota KinabaluCruise back over blue waters to Sabah's charming capital.
