Day	Destination	Description
Days 1-2	Buonconvento to Montalcino	The fine Palazzi lining the streets and the glorious Town Hall are testament to the wealth of the ancient trading town of Buonconvento. From here, break a sweat with a challenging ride through the Asso Valley and along a high ridge to Montalcino. Alternatively, take the longer scenic route through the famous vineyards of Brunello.
Day 3	Montalcino to Bagno Vignoni	Another two choices are open to you today: a direct route through sun-drenched vineyards or a trail past the alabaster abbey of Sant'Antimo. The latter offers a chance to hear the sacred sounds of a Gregorian chant, before pedalling through the beautiful Orcia Valley. This evening, you can seek a sulphur cure for sore muscles in the hot springs of Bagno Vignoni.
Days 4-5	Bagno Vignoni to Pienza	Test your endurance on the final day climbing a steep massif, or take a longer but easier route over open hills to the perfect Renaissance town of Pienza. Birthplace of Pope Pius II, his family's elegant palace offers wonderful views of the valley. There is the option for an extra day trip to Montepulciano, a tiny city boasting fine churches and magnificent works of art. It is also home to one of Italy's best wines - the Vino Nobile - which is a must-try while you're here.
