DayDestinationDescription
Days 1-3TokyoFrom imperial gardens to towering skyscrapers, the sights are endless in this frenetic city. Wander the world's largest fish market and shop till you drop in fashionable Roppongi.
Days 4-5NikkoRelax in Nikko town and explore the scenic Chezunji Lake surrounds - one of Japan's most beautiful areas. Hit the hot springs or head out for a hike.
Days 6-7HakoneThis scenic mountainous area has some great walks, including the 800-year-old Tokaido Highway. Bathing in the outdoor onsens is a real highlight. Remember that neither clothes nor swimming gear are allowed in the hot springs - time to shed those inhibitions.
Days 8-9Kamakura/TokyoJapan's former capital, Kamakura was the centre of Japanese culture around 900 years ago. Returning to Tokyo there is time to experience more city life. Gawk at galleries or eye the electronics in this dynamic metropolis.
