Dinner and breakfast served aboard the overnight flight. | | Day 2 | Lourdes | Lourdes : Arrive in Paris and transfer for our flight to Pau. Here we are met by our escort and deluxe motorcoach for transfer to Lourdes, where in 1858 Our Lady appeared to the 14-year-old Bernadette Soubirous. In the afternoon, participate in a walking tour of this beloved Shrine, including the three distinctive Basilicas. Later view a video presentation relating the story of Lourdes. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes. (D) | | Day 3 | Lourdes | Lourdes : After Mass this morning, we are free for personal devotions. Take the opportunity to experience the "Miraculous Baths." In the afternoon, we have a walking tour tracing the life of St. Bernadette, which includes visits to the Boly Mills where Bernadette was born; the Locale Mill, residence of her parents; the "Cachot," formerly used as a jail, where she lived at the time of the Apparitions; the Chapel where she received her First Holy Communion; and the Parish church containing the Font, where she was baptized. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes. (B, D) | | Day 4 | Lourdes | Lourdes : We continue delving into the life of St. Bernadette in the small village of Bartres, where she spent part of her childhood working as a shepherdess. Return to Lourdes with time for personal devotions including the Eucharistic Devotion and Procession. Tonight we are invited to participate in Rosary Candlelight Procession (if available). (B, D). | | Day 5 | Lourdes | Lourdes : Enjoy a free day in Lourdes or take part in an optional excursion (at additional cost) to Pau via the valley of Betharram. Set out for the resort town of Pau, seat of the Kings of Navarre, with a stop at the Shrine of Lestelle Betharram. In the afternoon, we visit the fanciful Castle of Henry IV, a masterpiece of the Renaissance style. Return to Lourdes for dinner and overnight. (B, D) | | Day 6 | New York | New York : Depart for Pau's airport for the return flight to Paris, where we connect to our homebound flights, arriving the same day. (B) |
